Who we are

What data we collect
When you subscribe, your email address and, if you give it, your name. We also collect the minimum technical data needed for the platform to work and to send emails, including, in newsletters, whether the email was opened and whether a link was clicked. We do not ask for or store payment details: if a paid subscription ever exists, payment is handled by a specialised provider.
What we use it for
To give you access to the platform and the newsletters, to send you the monthly newsletter and service emails (such as the sign-in code), and to understand, in aggregate, what interests our readers. We do not sell or hand your data to third parties for advertising.
Legal basis
Your consent, given when you subscribe, and our legitimate interest in keeping the platform secure. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who processes data for us
The platform and email delivery run on Ghost, which processes data on our behalf and may do so outside the European Economic Area, with the contractual safeguards required by the GDPR.
How long we keep it
While you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe (under “Manage” in your account, or via the link at the foot of each email), we stop emailing you and delete your data on request.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability of your data, and lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority (cnpd.pt) or your local one.
Cookies
We only use strictly necessary cookies and storage: keeping your member session and remembering preferences such as light or dark theme. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies; the platform's visit measurement is cookie-free.
